Heartfelt Thanks and Merry Christmas

Hi there,

In whatever country, culture, latitude and attitude! :) this letter finds you  - I want to personally send you my warm wishes for the holiday season. I am wishing you large amounts of happiness, love, peace and joy amongst family and friends. And I am wishing you small things too, like family tiffs, holiday traffic, credit card balances, waistline and checkout queues. Ho Ho Ho  life goes on!

Christmas is a time of rituals, some going back to the dawn of civilisation. One Christmas New Year ritual I love is my annual review. I look both back and forward and take time to count my blessings. I plan, dream, look at lessons learned. It is a gorgeous ritual, made much easier by 4me2realize. As I do this, I realize there are many people who have touched my life in very positive ways this year. You are one of these people. Thank you.

Really, Really, EXTRA Thank you because this year has been one that has tested my resolve, self belief, ability and resourcefulness. It has also asked me to step up repeatedly. Having been in business for 20+ years is no guarantee that starting a new business will be easy! A lot has changed. And so have I. But I have loved every minute because I have not journeyed alone. You have made it worthwhile, reading my letters, your positive comments, your feedback, support and interest.  I am writing today because I remember you. You touched me and it has all helped. I am soooo grateful to you and blessed to have your involvement. In the moments that I was tested, you have helped me keep my resolve.

I love my life, I’ve loved sharing with you and I am looking forward to the New Year.

Thank you
And Happy Christmas

Kindest regards,

You are a lot like a rock, or not?

Most people think of rocks as ordinary, plentiful, basic, unchangeable, hard and uncompromising, massive, dependable, solid, certain.... maybe?

And maybe not. If you take notice, there are millions of types of rocks. That’s because they are changing ALL the (long) time in response to many variables. For example the rocks in some places of the earth’s crust are plastic, bending, flexing, moving continents, creating tsunamis.

Changing rocks is known as the metamorphic process. It combines the rock’s original state with time, pressure, moisture, temperature and chemicals to produce an endless variety of new rocks that is simply astounding.

You are a lot like a rock; you are a unique combination of pre-existing conditions like genetics, location, social environment, beliefs and experiences, just like a rock is a unique combination of chemicals formed in different environmental conditions.

And just like a rock, you can be metamorphed, over time to something entirely different according to the combination of actions around you and your unique self.

Unlike rock, you have choice. (How ironic, that biblical no-know, free will....) So you are not something that is passively subjected to time, pressure, moisture, temperature and chemicals. Or is that social conditions, genetics, environment, beliefs, experiences, location?

You, unlike a rock, have a choice of what to make of what happens to you. What happens to you is, of course, created by you to facilitate your own growth, even if you are not aware of this.

What you make of this depends on your choices. A rock is a logical and definable entity. We know exactly how much pressure is required to turn carbon into diamonds. Human nature (psychology) is not so logical or definable. No one knows exactly what you will do under pressure. Will you become more determined or give up? The choice is yours. And through your decisions, your destiny is created.

There are times when we all feel like rocks – hardening our resistance to change and growth. But even rocks can and do change. And what they become is quite often miraculous.

Start your own metamorphism. Understand where you are now, visualise your destination. Get clear on your current attributes and the ones you will need to create your desired future. If this all sounds like too much work, you can do 2 things, sit there like a rock and let it all happen to you, OR get 4me2realize and use it to start EASILY creating the future of your dreams.....

Rock on (sorry), Kind regards
Cas – a diamond in the makin’

P.s. This is impressive.... Most natural diamonds are formed at high-pressure high-temperature conditions existing at depths of 140 to 190 kilometers (87 to 120 mi) in the Earth mantle. Carbon-containing minerals provide the carbon source, and the growth occurs over periods from 1 billion to 3.3 billion years (25% to 75% of the age of the Earth). Now I appreciate my diamond ring!

What is more important, your life or your money?

Do you do business? Involved in the business world in anyway? Have you ever bought or sold something? Then you know that in this world everything revolves around one thing, a financial transaction. Nothing happens until something is sold. (Really?)

And when something is sold, a record is kept, a financial record. Where would the world be without financial systems? Started by the Egyptians more than 3 thousand years ago, and still going strong! They track every transaction, every nuance of buyer behaviour and market favour.

No one would start a business and get very far without a financial system in the background, ticking over, recording every sale, creating balance sheets, profit and loss reports, budgets, monthly and yearly reports. Taking the financial pulse of every artery of business, letting us know those vital statistics, allowing us to make adjustments, chart our course and create wealth and success, and avoid failure and ruin.

Wouldn’t you agree these financial systems are VERY important.  But it is ONLY money. There is one thing even more important, YOUR LIFE.

What system do you have for your life?

If your life is worth MORE than MONEY, why wouldn’t you treat it with MORE respect, more importance, time, consideration, priority? Hmm.... thought provoking I hope.

Because my life is more important than anything I own, I have developed a system that tracks my EMOTIONAL transactions. You see -  there is more to life than financial transactions.....MUCH MORE.

I get a balance sheet of my Life, assets, liabilities, expenses and income, in terms of who I am and who I want to become, my strengths and weaknesses. What I get and what I give when I contribute my talents to the world.... I have my budget on goals, aspirations and achievements and reports on projects & progress. I can see where I need to make adjustments in spending – emotional energy that is wasted and where there are opportunities for self development.

I record my assets in magic moments and my expenses in wisdom and lessons learned. I live fully. Just like a well run business, I track my transactions to achieve my fullest potential.

If you have a business head, have you ever thought about a system that would help you run your life like you run a business? A life management system?

Since the Egyptians humans have been creating systems, since Aristotle, humans have sought improvement in higher realms, ourselves.

Combine systems with self development and you empower yourself to achieve your fullest potential.

4me2realize combines a life management system, technology and psychology. What’s missing? Only You.

How heavy is it?

source : http://www.lostartsmedia.com/images/NatureInLove01.jpg

Have you ever noticed how bad stuff gets more attention than good stuff? It weighs more somehow. Why is this?
My husband and I were in travelling with a group in Germany when we found ourselves in the midst of a fight, over something silly, yet it absorbed all our attention. We didn't notice the glistening snow, or the beautiful forest or our smoky cold breath hanging in the icy air. We talked and thought all about this problem we had with these people.
When we became aware that we were immersed in this crap, we asked why... the key is asking good questions....and we could see a pattern, that when ever there is a problem it gets more of our attention. More than when there is something good happening.
We put it down to a biological legacy driven by the need to survive. Back in "cave man" days problems had to be solved to ensure the survival of the social group.  But the problems we were giving all our emotional attention and energy were not a matter of survival, they were just plain silly. What amazed us is how we had got sucked into this emotional vortex. And we got out. We stopped focusing on this silly problem, decided what we would do, and got on with more enjoyable things.
People are much more motivated by pain than pleasure, sad but true. You get much more attention if you're "clinically depressed,' rather than coping and thriving! You buy newspapers and magazines that relish bad news. It's so intriguing when someone else has cocked up! Media magnets know this so well. They make millions from our inherent interest in bad stuff.
But at the end of the day it is a CHOICE. Your choice. What you invest your emotional energy in defines you. Ask yourself, what are you choosing to focus on and what meaning are you giving it? Are these thoughts dragging you down or building you up? Choose to build. Reject thoughts that destroy. Learn whatever lesson is there for you and then move on. Your emotional energy is just as important as your physical vitality. Are you fat and lazy with your thinking? Are you feeding your brain junk food?
Become aware of what your brain and thinking is consuming and producing. What are you reading and listening to? Is it building or destroying you? What are you thinking, positive or negative?
My son had a bad dream when he was little. He was frightened to go back to sleep again. As I sat with him he visualised the bad dream, then we got a big black imaginary marker and drew a big black imaginary cross right over those bad thoughts. We crossed them right out. He realised he had POWER to CHOOSE what he was thinking about and to turn off destructive frightening thoughts. This was an amazingly simple, powerful life lesson and he uses it all the time.
Personally, I restrict the news I listen to, the people I let into my inner circle, the amount of advertising I see. I have chosen the place I live to give me peace and serenity. I read and view television and internet content selectively and I minimise the time I spend there. I am discerning. I exercise rigorously my right to CHOOSE what my mind consumes. This discipline frees me to create the life I want.
The bad stuff can consume a disproportionate weight of your attention. That's natural as you learn the lesson, but don't get stuck enjoying the dramatic weight of bad stuff. Move on.
4me2realize helps you become aware of the weight and impact of your thinking. Use it regularly to exercise your right to choose, the discipline to create the life you want to realize.
 Kindest regards

Meet the Director of 4me2realize

Hello,

I will be in Sydney on the weekend, to talk to life coaches and some other amazing people about 4me2realize.

Living in the country is blissful, but I also love visiting the city, especially Sydney where I was born and grew up.

I don't visit very often but I am really excited about this visit, mostly because I love meeting new people and getting to do the adult version of "show and tell" with 4me2realize and generally sharing with people.

I won't have a lot of spare time, but I would still love to meet anyone who would be interested in finding out more about 4me2realize and how it can help people realize their life.

Let me know if you're intersted ASAP, I fly into town early Friday morning.

P/S If you're not in Sydney don't fret, give me a call and take advantage of our FREE online demo.

Thank you

Bringing Peace to the Life Balance War

Life Balance is such a trendy term at the moment. We are supposed to be able to balance our work and our life somehow. This dualistic approach tends to turn life and work into competing forces fighting over you. I don’t like this idea and living it is hell!

So how to avoid it? Add another element.

Doesn’t this mean there is more competing interests for you. No, because the third element is YOU!

Adding you, means you devote as much energy to yourself as you would to your work or any other area of your life, like you wife, girlfriend, family, friends, sports or hobbies.

When you devote the appropriate amount of time to developing yourself, everything benefits.

I prefer this more peaceful triology of work, life and self in balance, each complimenting the other in a meaningful and beautiful dance through life. And notice what a balanced life looks like? A peace symbol. Coincidence or not, it has a nice feel about it.

When you find yourself between these three areas the result is a more peaceful, aligned life.

In today’s busy world, it seems the first casualty is our personal peace, time to think, contemplate and be considered. Work and life seem to keep their share, funny that! You can blame the world, or you can step up and take responsibility, at least for yourself, by taking time to develop yourself.

When I imagine a highly evolved person, I think of monks on mountaintops. People who spend a lot of their time on their own, developing their inner self first.

We don’t have to become monks! But just a nudge of more time for yourself can be restorative.

4me2realize creates an environment where you are guided through a process of self analysis and then integrates and encourages contemplation and review. Rather than sending you to mountain tops, it uses modern software. But the result is the same, time for you and peace in your life.

How much time for yourself? Well it just depends, on you. But I know I am better if I take at least an hour for myself every day! And that’s not at the gym or in front of the TV! For some people, just 15 minutes a day is a great start.

Warning, as you start the habit of taking time for yourself, it becomes addictive. As you improve yourself, the world around you also improves. It is a wonderful, self perpetuating spiral. It feels great.

It doesn’t matter how much money you make, how old or young you are, what your job or relationships are, you can start right now, today on improving yourself. You need nothing but time and commitment.

So where do you start once you have found a few minutes and the will? I of course am going to suggest you try 4me2realize.

And right now you can try it for free for 60 days. That’s enough time to start a really good habit and get on the path of self improvement.

Peace be with you

Kind regards

Cas

Connection, the ultimate gift to yourself.

A few weeks ago I wrote about defining your Life Purpose in response to some Realizers who struggled with the very first question, “What is your Life Purpose?”

I want to cover another aspect of this important, first, momentous step. The importance of which was brought home to me one early rainy Sunday morning when I wandered down through wet paddocks, to our remote brown river with a very good friend, stripped off and swam and talked nakedly about the importance of connection to one’s self...a fitting spiritual start to the day’s divinity. First I want to assure you... you already know what your Life Purpose is, at some level, you know. Your whole brain, body, heart and soul and every experience you have ever had up to now, has defined your Life Purpose. You know what it is, it is inside you. You were created out of the dust of the universe to achieve Your Life Purpose. If that’s too cosmic for you, think of it as your God given Purpose.

The problem is in our “busy” world you might not have ever consciously sought it out. To find it, you have to reconnect with yourself. This connection is tricky, especially in today’s noisy world. In some ways we spend our whole lives trying to connect with our inner selves and to know ourselves truly. It is no accident that Anthony Robbins starts his signature Unleash the Power Within event with the stated outcome “Know thy self!” Hardly original, but as true and relevant today as it was 2000 years ago!

To know yourself you have to have some connection with yourself. I imagine your life is a lot like mine. I juggle many responsibilities, there is a never ending demand on my time and attention, the phone is ringing, there are constant SMS and email messages demanding an instant response. People have expectations of me and rely on me for their living.

There is always a pile of washing, grass to be cut and houses to be cleaned. There is television, radio news in the car, DVD’s, You Tube and a million other distractions. How the hell to cut through all this stuff and get connected to yourself? Connecting with yourself almost seems like another unrealistic demand in an already overwhelmed world...

  1. Value yourself. Your are worth it. You deserve it
  2. Make Time. Make some space. Come up for air.
  3. Understand everything benefits from giving time to yourself.
Recognise that contemplative time for yourself is as important as time with your partner or time at work. The others all suffer if you are measly with yourself.

To find your Life Purpose is to free yourself, to allow you to be True to thyself, and allow your inner light to shine. There is a noble purpose to this exercise that reaches far beyond yourself and to the universe as you unlock the gifts and talents you have to give...which makes it very satisfying.

In your decisions lies your destiny. Decide now that the self is central and take action on that priority. If you don’t have a Life Purpose then you haven’t done it yet...

Timothy Ferriss wote The 4-Hour Work Week, which became a NY #1 best seller. In it he says “Are you inventing things to do to avoid the important?”

“Being busy is often used as a guise for avoiding a few critically important but uncomfortable actions.” Ask yourself, am I hiding behind busyness?

Sometimes creating a Life Purpose may make you uncomfortable. You sit staring at the blank page or screen, looking at far away vistas while searching desperately for the true internal self. You squirm.

It is far easier to turn on the TV, go and eat something, do something else, like clean the house, or send an email, surf the internet.

David Whyte’s Book “The Three Marriages” describes knowing the self as “the most difficult marriage of all” the other two being with our partner and work.

“All of our great contemplative traditions advocate the necessity for silence in an individual life; first, for gaining a sense of discernment amid the noise and haste, second, as a basic building block of individual happiness, and third, to let this other all-seeing identity (ourselves) come to life and find it’s voice inside us.....It can be disconcerting or even distressing to find....this internal marriage (with ourself) calls for a kind of cessation, a stopping, a fierce form of attention that attempts to look at where all this DOING arises from. For the busy mind, for instance, it is almost impossible or even painful.”

Mr Whyte’s vocation as a poet makes his writing lyrical as he recognises our universal struggle to identify and connect with our true voice.

No amount of software can help you uncover your Life Purpose. Time and contemplation, stillness and “fierce attention” are the keys. So turn off the TV, radio, computer, phone, go to the park or the paddock, the river or the beach, go to the mountain or into the forest. Listen to beautiful music or silence. But hold fast to your desire to find your shining light within, to call it a name, to define it and live by your true nature.

Once you know what your Life Purpose is, 4me2realize will help you align everything you do with it. From that point on life becomes a lot easier. You may even find you do less and have more. You are less busy because you are more focused on a clearly defined Purpose. You will have the gift of empowering clarity. It is the antidote to a busy life, a fulfilled life.
Tough it may be, worthwhile it is.

I like Timothy Ferriss description of laziness “to endure a non-ideal existence and let circumstances or others decide life for you....”

All these principles are incorporated in 4me2realize.

Triumph in the Challenge.

I can still remember my workmate telling me I have to start looking at buying property.

It is still so vivid the feeling. The story I had in my head. I can’t, I have this and that and this to take care of. I don’t have the money and all the other non-sense.

Then I started using 4me2realize. It wasn’t by choice at first, I had to test it! There was a lot of resistance. Especially because every time I logged in I was faced with this BURNING BLAZIN’ question. It is the first question which one has to answer before proceeding with the program.

 “What is your Purpose?”

It took me quite a while to come up with this.

But I am so glad I persevered. The rest was easy and fun!

I must add that this software has helped me tremendously.

I started using 4me2realize and noticed a lot of discrepancies in my life. Example, I was talking a whole lot about building wealth, and yet I found myself only spending 2% of my entire time doing something about it! I was contributing a whole chunk of my life to volunteering to help others. Whilst this is a very good and righteous thing to do – it was taking 27% of my time! Look at the difference. My health was at 5%! Shock horror! My wheel was all wonky so to speak.

I needed some serious re-vamping of my routine and thinking.

So that’s exactly what I did. I changed my ways in some areas slightly, in some areas drastically. I noted my entire journey in 4me2realize and attributed it to my specific goals. I constantly reviewed my progress. It is quite fun and exciting to see how far I’ve come.

There are even some areas where I’ve been challenged tremendously. Wealth! Gulp! I’ve seen 51% resistance in this area. And this is the beauty of it, I’ve been challenged, yet I persevered and...Remember when I only spent 2% of my time building wealth (this was 12 months ago) I’m now at 14%.

So now, only less than 18 months since my workmate spoke to me about purchasing property, I’ve bought land in a prestigious neighbourhood and built on it, went on a 7 week vacation round the world, registered a business in Malaysia in partnership with my current company, bought a new car and looking to expand my property portfolio. I’m a much happier and balanced person; I’ve spent more time with my family and friends. I am also healthier and leaner.

What more can I ask for?

In saying that, I’m still a work in progress. I am slowly tweaking my 4me2realize. But I’ve found 4me2realize keeps me focused, honest, and on-track. I’ve just recently put in new goals and projects for 2010. I’m excited to see my progress in 2010!

4me2realize isn’t a magic potion – that’s one thing I have to acknowledge. It is not to say you get your login and you’ll get what you’ve wished for. It is a tool. A tool that helps you achieve.

So compatriots, start Realizing. Triumph in your Challenges.

Yours sincerely
Iris

How to Get and Stay Motivated

This week a friend asked me how I keep fit and slim. Well it’s isn’t one miracle solution, that’s for sure. But there are probably 4 principles;
  1. eat less better food
  2. exercise more less strenuously
  3. Be consistent over time
  4. Be disciplined over time
So now you know, but how do you MOTIVATE yourself to do this? What makes people jump out of bed and passionately pursue their dreams? What keeps that internal fire of motivation burning bright and keeping you moving towards what you want, even when the going gets tough?

Some people appear “naturally” motivated, but the truth is it’s a learned skill and anyone can do it.
Here’s a great list that could help you;

Know what you want AND WHY
Things don’t motivate you, feelings do! You want a new house? Analyse why you want this, feeling secure, feeling “at home,” enjoying decorating, not worrying about rent and moving. All these are feelings. Identify the feelings you want from your goal and use these intense emotional feelings to motivate you. One way to get really intense feelings is to visualise yourself getting what you want, deeply imagine yourself, the colours, the sounds, the smells, the tastes, the feel on your skin, when you achieve what you want. This also activates your subconscious mind and sets it up to “see” the opportunities that will help you achieve your goals.

Write down your goals.
Again you are activating your mind, by slowing it down to write, to get very clear about what you want and WHY you want it. Some people find adding deadlines help and getting very specific about what you want can also be very motivating. Do what motivates you.

Set rewards
Nothing worthwhile is easy, so sometimes your motivation will be tested. Make sure you set congruent rewards when you achieve milestones. Congruent means, if you lose 5kg’s – go to the movies! Don’t eat cake. If you buy a house, have a wonderful house warming party and celebrate your achievement. Even small rewards along the way can help you keep motivated. Remember the rewards will be specific to you so spend some time finding rewards that motivate you!

Share your goals with people that will support you.
Having a buddy who will keep you honest and motivated is a great asset. Most people would be flattered if asked to assist. But be warned, some people will not. Some people are threatened by your plans. Chose your friends and who you share with very carefully and avoid negative people.

Use negative emotion
Most people are more motivated by pain than pleasure, sad but true. You can use this to help you get motivated! Imagine what will happen if you don’t do what you have planned. Imagine the pain and multiply it several times. Get sad or angry, teary or depressed. Do not back away from feeling very intensely these negative emotions and how hurt and disappointed you will FEEL if you don’t carry out your planned ACTIONS.

Follow this exercise with positive visualisation so you don’t stay in a negative state!

Keep Focused on what you want
Think about what you want every day, day dream, and journal, note your small progress towards your big goals. Make sure you NOTICE your progress because this will help you STAY motivated and keep your MOMENTUM.

Resolving laziness, procrastination and self sabotage
These can all limit your motivation. The first thing is to become AWARE of this in you actions. Working out why can be hard because often you are doing it unconsciously. You miss a lecture, you drink too much, or you stay on the couch without being aware of what you are doing. GET AWARE. The best way again is by journaling, slow down your thinking and analyse your actions.

Often being lazy, procrastination and self sabotage is a BIG SIGN - there is incongruence. For example; you want to get fit, but running makes you sore; you want to start a business but you hate losing money. These contrary emotions will result in a neutralisation of your emotional, motivational drivers.

Only you can resolve the mental tug of war. If you want to get fit, but running makes you sore, do something else, there are 1000’s of fitness activities to chose and enjoy. If you want to run a business but you hate losing money, you have to address your fear, learn to live with it, learn to minimise risks in business (yes it can be done) or set a new agenda.
There is no point fighting yourself! It is a waste of energy and it will definitely sidetrack you from what you want.

Finally and MOST IMPORTANTLY
Make sure what you want, is aligned with who you are and want to be. If you want to be a basket ball star but you hate training, it’s just not going to work! This sounds so obvious, but many people head off on their journey without FIRST defining who they want to be and only half way through realize that there is poor alignment in what they want and who they are... the best place is to start with a defining life purpose and work from there, then at least you’ll know you are heading in the right direction.

And it is never too late to start.

All these principles are incorporated in 4me2realize.

4me2realize : "My Goals"

Your goals contribute to your purpose, often directly and often indirectly. Life is a balance. Life is made of up stuff you can control and some stuff you can’t. 4me2realize goes easy on having “target dates” for this reason. As long as you can keep your goals in your conscious and why you must work towards them, you will be motivated to take action. As long as you are taking action you are achieving.

Think about what is a goal and what is a project. Don’t make a goal like “cycle 5 days a week” – this should be a project, the goal should be “to be healthy and fit”. If you cannot think of projects for this goal then it is probably not a goal.
We recommend that you don’t write down every single goal you have in your life now and for the next 50 years. Just the ones that currently have a “reason” and that you can work on now. You will also find as you gather knowledge and experience your goals might change so you need to have the space to be adaptable.
If you imagine a uni-cyclist, their balance is never “still”. Your weight is always shifting in a random pattern, the subconscious mind must constantly adapt to the purpose (to stay upright). If you find yourself under achieving in an area or goal, then adapt by using all of your resources.
When entering a goal you will be asked to associate it to a “life balance”. Life Balance is where you link your goal to an area of your life, i.e. family, friends, career, finance, health, etc. 4me2realize uses these life balance areas to analyze your activity once you start recording events. Life balance is dynamic. 4me2realize proposes the concept that “life balance” is the answer rather than the question, meaning we don’t start by defining life balance, but rather it is a result. The result, if unbalanced is a good opportunity to reflect and redirect your effort if required.
